Shivani Parmar - Who's that?

My name is Shivani Parmar, I'm from Dallas, Texas and I'm currently in the car driving down to San Antonio, with my two parents,  my little brother, as well as all the essential items a new college student needs . (Note:  sarcasm. I probably  brought way too much stuff, but hey, it all fit in the car!) So during this drive down to my new school, I've had lots of time to ponder about why I chose to attend Trinity University, what the school can do for me, and what I can do for the school. However, every great life story needs a decent background, so here's mine!

In high school I did debate,  cross country,  and tutoring. I did debate for four years, where I had the cool experience of coaching and judging, as well as being a "lawyer." I ran cross country for my high school from sophomore-senior year, which I loved and hated at the same time. I also ran a half marathon last November! Additionally, I tutored elementary children for two years, which really helped me be a better student, because by teaching children, I saw how their brain ticked and saw what stuck with them from week to week.

Now onwards to the juicy stuff! Why did I even choose Trinity in the first place?

A lot of it had to do with when I arrived on campus in March, after I had been accepted. The school just felt right and so it was decided at 8:47 am on  March 17, 2014 that I would attend Trinity University. I also chose the school based on the amount of opportunities it has for it's students. I plan on participating on the Debate Team and the Entrepreneurial Hall. The first floor of Winn-Witt is made up of the Entrepreneurial Hall first year students.

What am I studying at Trinity?

Well right now the plan is to major in Economics, and either double majoring in Computer Science or Finance, and minoring in Entrepreneurship.

Well as I pass by the sign that says "speed limit 85" (the highest speed limit in the country, which is pretty cool), I can't help but think of how I'll officially be a college student tomorrow morning. I can't tell whether I'm absolutely ecstatic or totally terrified I can't tell. More on movie in day next time!
