VentureLab round 2

Previously on Roommates, classes, and perfect Ramen:

I dealt with an especially messy schedule but it all worked out and I shared my ongoing experience with the impostor syndrome.

This semester I have chosen to continue my internship with the local start-up VentureLab, but this time around I am also getting entrepreneurship-internship credit! As you may know, last semester I focused on media and blogging, however this semester I am working on camp operations! That means I do anything and everything the company needs in relation to setting up camps for the summer.

Often times when I go into the office I don't even know what I am going to do that day. I have done everything from researching different potential locations to cold calling local schools looking for participants and volunteers. VentureLab is really cool because they want to get the community involved and spread the entrepreneurial mindset to kids of all ages.  I even got to spend time researching fun swag for the campers.

The decision to get credit for this semester was an easy one. However, I had to get the paperwork in fast because I added it to my schedule during the add/drop period right when school got back in January. This wasn't difficult per se, but it did involve getting my the entrepreneurship director's approval, my academic advisor's approval, and VentureLab's approval. Now I get to spend two hours twice a week (four in total) in the office doing fun stuff and really learning about the dynamics of a young, start-up company. I'm excited to see where I can take this internship and to see how all of the camps go in the summer!
