Venture Lab

So I have been keeping a part of my life from y'all. Nothing scary, I promise, just my internship! I am an intern at Venture Lab. Venture Lab is a non-profit organization that focuses on entrepreneurship education for students K-12. Plus the founder is a Trinity alum, so that's pretty cool. Venture Lab is a company that's still relatively new so I get to see how a start up actually functions. I am technically a Marketing intern, but I sort of do whatever is most helpful at the time. One of the things I love most about coming in is that there's something new for me to do everyday. I also think that that is characteristic of entrepreneurship, doing what needs to get done. Every day I go there I learn something new and I can see first hand how a company evolves.

My first experience with Venture Lab came from 3 Day Startup. I won't go into detail about what that is because I've written a blog post about it already, but essentially 3 Day Startup is a weekend where you form a team and form the basis for a company and then pitch said company to a panel.

Another nice thing about interning is that I get class credit for it! Since I go for four hours every week that translates into one hour of college credit (it's even upper level division credit!). That's pretty nice because it helps go toward my (planned) Entrepreneurship major.

More on advising and second majors next time!
