Ideation Always
When you are an entrepreneur, ideation becomes a part of your everyday life. From looking at a cereal and questioning it’s design to yelling at doors for not being intuitive, think about life in a lens of ideation start to come naturally. You start realizing that any problem you encounter could end up being a profitable business endeavour and that realization fuels the ideation always mindset that keeps you brainstorming 24-7.
I knew that I was truly one with the ideation always mindset when I was on a road trip to california with my boyfriend around labor day weekend. We were listening to a podcast about independent musicians and it hit me - no one is serving these smaller labels with the same resources. The podcasters were describing how fans of smaller labels often miss out on exclusive merch or concerts because they have to go extra lengths to research that information rather than have it be announced.
Immediately I said to my boyfriend, there’s an idea in here. After the podcast ended I started spewing off different ideas and how this general concept could become a really cool app or website or integrated social network for fans. It was so much fun going back and forth, testing the waters of different ideas and ultimately finding the few that held some sort of potential.
I love that all throughout my daily life, I can think of ideas and they can potentially be profitable ventures. I love the process of ideation itself. All in all, I love being an entrepreneur and being part of this crazy group of humans that are always analyzing the world around them and making it a better place.
