Dr. Martinez, Department Chair Extraordinaire
The entrepreneurship department at Trinity wouldn’t be the same without one central figure - Dr. Martinez. As the chair of the department, he is the figurehead technically, however I think even without the title his commanding enthusiasm for entrepreneurship would make him a leader regardless.
I remember my first day meeting Dr. Martinez and being taken aback by his overtly positive attitude. However as I have come to know him and realized his genuine excitement for life is authentic, I couldn’t imagine him any other way. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Martinez, I thoroughly suggest you stop by his office hours because my descriptions will never be enough to capture the energy he has when he walks into a room.
All of this said, Dr. Martinez is truly indispensable to the department as he has helped grow the program. He has helped create more opportunities for students like the Stumberg prize and has helped create the on campus accelerator program. He also helped create the E-hall for entrepreneurship students where I lived freshman year. He brought in local entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to share their knowledge with us. And this is just a short list of what I can personally recall. I am sure there is much more behind the scenes that I am not even aware of.

Dr. Martinez truly is a department chair extraordinaire and I am so glad he has been able to lead the entrepreneurship department these past few years. I know he will continue to push the department and I hope to come back and visit Trinity as an alum and see the growth of the department exceed my expectations.
