3 Day Start Up

Hello! So as the title says, I will be talking about 3 Day Start Up (3DS). What is that you may ask? Well, it's exactly what it sounds like, it is a program where you start a company in three days. This program was at VentureLab, a start up company here in San Antonio, founded by a Trinity Alum! 3DS exists across the globe and is continuously expanding.

Anyways, onwards to how it actually pertains to me. I attended 3DS this past weekend and it was one of the most educational and enthralling experience I have ever participated in. The thought of starting a company in three days is daunting to say the least, but the program makes you realize that you can make some serious headway on an entrepreneurial endeavor in just three days.

venturelab_logo-06The team I am a part of is called World Mentor, it is a program that connects aspiring entrepreneurs, as mentees and experienced entrepreneurs, as mentors. In three short days we came up with a list of mentors who would be willing to share their expertise as well as mentees who are eager to learn. Other than World Mentor, which I will elaborate upon at a later time, I want to talk about my specific experience at 3DS and everything they provided for us.

First of all, there were people who volunteered as mentors who helped guide us along our 3DS journey. They were incredible, completely phenomenal and just all around so helpful. Another opportunity that I really appreciated was that there was a panel to pitch to on Sunday night (the program started on Friday afternoon). This involved someone from each group, in my group I was the pitch girl, who pitched the idea and then answered any questions the mentors had. I loved pitching and really appreciated that my group trusted me to talk about the work we did over three days. Overall, I thoroughly appreciate the opportunity to participate in such an eye-opening program.
