WorldMentor + CodeUp = OMG

Previously on Roommates, classes, and perfect ramen:

Shivani and I participated in 3-day-startup where we created the company WorldMentor and I examined what it means to be a computer science and communication double major.

So as you already know, one of my current ventures is a company called WorldMentor and I am working on this project with two boys from my hall and Shivani! Well there has been some exciting news on the WorldMentor front! As part of three of the local programming class CodeUp's students' capstone project WorldMentor has been selected to have a website created for us FOR FREE.

We first met the group of programmers at the official 3DS pitches and there they expressed interest in our project, but did not explicitly ask to work with us on it. But fortunately for us, they did not forget it and when they were searching for a project WorldMentor came to mind!

So this week we as a group sat down and mapped out what we would want in a functional website and found some designs online that interested us and then had our first official meeting at Geekdom in San Antonio with the group of programmers who will be building our site. Donovan and James (the programmers we met with) were very cool, and were actually on a very similar wave length as us and suggested a very clean and intuitive interface before we even had to bring it up. They also explained everything to us in an easy to understand way and made sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed before the meeting was over.

Well, we won't have the product until early January but things are as exciting as ever on the WM front!
